New Non-Profit to Allocate Mitigation Funds for Massachusetts LNG Terminals

If the proposed Northeast Gateway and Neptune LNG terminals off the coast of Massachusetts are built, two Gloucester-based organizations, the Gloucester Fishermen’s Association and the Northeast Seafood Coalition, would help create a non-profit to oversee distribution of $12.6 million of the $47 million package paid by the energy companies to mitigate any effects that the terminals might have on fishing.  Both terminals were recently approved by Gov. Mitt Romney and now face Federal review.  The Boston Globe has details.
