On October 25, 2017, FERC released its Final Report pursuant to President Trump’s Executive Order 13783 to determine whether existing regulations and agency actions potentially burden the development or use of domestically produced energy resources. Platts reports that Dominion Energy is expected to begin LNG production at its Cove Point LNG terminal in Lusby, Md. in November 2017. The article quotes Dominion Energy CEO Thomas Farrell as saying “[t]he Cove Point Liquefaction construction is effectively complete and the facility is going through its advanced-commissioning phase.” Once service commences, Cove Point will be the second U.S. exporter of LNG produced from shale gas. U.S. LNG Companies to Visit China Next Month

Reuters reports that 10 of the 29 companies traveling to China next month with U.S. Commerce Secretary Ross and President Donald Trump are involved in energy and gas, including representatives from Cheniere Energy Inc., owners of the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La., and Delfin Midstream LLC, which is building floating LNG vessels off the Louisiana coast.
