Reuters reports that Fortis BC has shipped a cargo of LNG to China, making it the first LNG cargo exported from Canada to China. According to the report, the relatively small cargo of approximately 17 tonnes of LNG was produced at FortisBC’s Tilbury plant near Vancouver, British Columbia, and shipped to China via containers loaded onto ships. The Polish Oil and Gas Company Group announced last week that it has signed a five-year contract with Centrica LNG Company Limited for LNG supply primarily sourced from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La. Last week, Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) announced that it has signed separate agreements with Chinese and Vietnamese companies regarding the development of the Alaska LNG export project. Circuit denied Sierra Club’s appeals of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) orders which authorized LNG exports from the Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG terminal under construction in Lusby, Md., the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La., and the Corpus Christi LNG terminal under construction in Corpus Christi, Texas. FERC issued a notice of its intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Fourchon LNG Project in Lafourche Parish, La.
