Cheniere Affiliate Sabine Pass LNG to Construct Third Marine Berth

FERC has approved Cheniere Energy affiliate Sabine Pass LNG’s (SPL) request to begin the pre-filing environmental review process for SPL’s proposal to construct a third marine berth at SPL’s liquefaction and LNG export terminal in Cameron Parish, La.  The third marine berth will be sized to accommodate 125,000 m3 to 185,000 m3 capacity vessels.

Venture Global and Shell NA LNG Double Purchase Agreement Volume

Venture Global LNG announced that Venture Global Calcasieu Pass, LLC (Venture Global Calcasieu Pass), its subsidiary, has agreed with Shell NA LNG LLC (Shell) to double the volume under their existing sales and purchase agreement to two million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG from Venture Global Calcasieu Pass’s LNG export facility under development in Cameron Parish, La. Dominion Energy Ships First LNG Cargo From Cove Point Terminal

Last week, Dominion Energy announced that the first cargo of LNG produced for export departed from the Dominion Energy Cove Point LNG terminal in Lusby, Md.  According to the press release, all major equipment at the facility was being commissioned as expected. Coast Guard Determines St. Johns River Suitable for LNG Project

The U.S. Coast Guard has sent a letter to FERC recommending that the St. Johns River in Florida be considered suitable for the LNG marine traffic projected for Eagle LNG Partners Jacksonville’s proposed LNG export terminal in Jacksonville, Fla.

Corpus Christi Liquefaction Hopes to Produce First LNG This Year

Reuters reports that Douglas Wharton, director of origination for Cheniere Marketing, recently stated that Corpus Christi Liquefaction’s LNG facility under construction in Corpus Christi, Texas “will hopefully start producing first LNG by this year.” Reuters also reported Mr. Wharton as saying, “[we] have made significant progress on train 3 which…we are hoping to take a final investment decision (FID) on soon.”    ...

U.S. House Subcommittee Holds Oversight Hearing on LNG and U.S. Geopolitics

FERC to Prepare EIS for Proposed Commonwealth LNG Project

FERC has issued a notice of its intent to prepare and environmental impact statement (EIS) for Commonwealth LNG’s proposed liquefaction and LNG export terminal to be located on the west side of the Calcasieu Ship Channel near Johnson Bayou in Cameron Parish, La.  The terminal would have a peak production capacity of nine million metric tonnes of LNG per year.
