In its monthly status report to FERC, Lake Charles LNG stated that on February 2, 2018, it requested from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality an additional 18-month extension of the deadline to commence construction of its proposed terminal at Lake Charles, La. The company requested a new deadline of November 1, 2019. The request is currently pending approval.

Dominion Energy has announced that its Cove Point LNG terminal (DECP) in Lusby, Md., has entered commercial service for natural gas liquefaction and export. According to the press release, after completing a planned maintenance outage, the facility has been ramping up to full production of LNG from natural gas provided by its export customers since late March. Exelon Generation announced an agreement to purchase ENGIE North America’s Everett Marine Terminal, also known as the Distrigas Terminal, an LNG import terminal located in Boston, Mass. According to the press release, the purchase is meant to ensure the continued reliable supply of fuel to Exelon Generations’ Mystic Units 8 and 9 while they remain operating. Last week, the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC) announced that it has engaged Bank of China Limited (Bank of China) and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC (Goldman Sachs) to serve as lead global capital coordinators for AGDC’s Alaska LNG project. Freeport LNG Expansion, L.P. and FLNG Liquefaction 4, LLC (Applicants) have filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for authorization to export 262.8 Bcf of LNG over 20 years to countries with and without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States in connection with the proposed Train 4 Project. FERC has issued its schedule for the environmental review of the proposed Alaska LNG project, which consists of an 800-mile pipeline, a liquefaction facility, and an LNG export terminal, among other things. FERC plans to issue a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) in March 2019 and a final EIS on December 9, 2019. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an order authorizing Fourchon LNG LLC (Fourchon LNG) to export up to 260 Bcf/yr of LNG (0.71 Bcf/day) by vessel from its proposed liquefaction facility to be located on Port Fourchon at Belle Pass in Lafourche Parish, La.
