Freeport Begins LNG Production

Platts reports that Freeport LNG has begun LNG production from Train 1 at its facility on Quintana Island, Texas, becoming the sixth major US liquefaction facility to produce LNG. According to a Freeport LNG spokeswoman, the first Train 1 cargo loading is expected later this month and Train 1 remains on schedule for a September start of commercial operations.

DOE Publishes LNG Export Data through June 2019

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has published data on exports of U.S. domestically-produced LNG through June 2019. DOE Authorizes Gulf LNG Liquefaction to Export to Non-FTA Nations

Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued an order authorizing Gulf LNG Liquefaction Company LLC to export, over a 20-year term, up to 558.9 Bcf/yr of LNG from its proposed Gulf LNG Liquefaction Project in Jackson County, Miss., to nations without a free trade agreement with the United States (non-FTA).
