Excelerate Files with DOE to Export LNG to FTA Countries
Excelerate Liquefaction Solutions I, LLC, filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) seeking authority to export, on behalf of itself and as an agent for others, up to 10 million metric tons per year (approximately 1.38 Bcf/day) of domestic LNG over a 20-year period to countries with a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States. Excelerate proposes to export the LNG from two floating liquefaction, storage, and offloading units that it intends to construct in Calhoun County, Texas. Excelerate states that it also will file a request to export domestic LNG to non-FTA countries. The application can be found on DOE’s website under Docket No. 12-61-LNG.
