Environmentalists: U.S. Coast Guard Confirms “Stalemate” for Passamaquoddy Bay Terminals
Environmentalists cited a recent letter from the U.S. Coast Guard to FERC as evidence that the two projects’ approval processes have reached a standstill because Canada has not yet provided needed information to the USCG regarding maritime safety, security, and environmental issues. The Telegraph-Journal (New Brunswick, Canada) reports that without Canadian input and explanations, the companies developing the two LNG projects in Passamaquoddy Bay will be unable to secure the necessary U.S. approvals to advance the project.
