Enhancement Plans Announced for Trunkline LNG Facility
Southern Union Company has announced the details of its plan to upgrade its Trunkline LNG facility in Lake Charles, La. If approved, the $250 million project will include regasification technology using ambient air temperature, which the company says will increase fuel efficiency and cost savings. It also will involve the construction of a natural gas liquids extraction plant, allowing the terminal to receive gas from a variety of upstream locations. BG LNG Services has contracted for all the existing and planned services through 2028.
Southern Union also announced that its Phase I capacity expansion is now in service.
