Downeast LNG Proposed Pipeline Route Rejected by Federal Agency
The Telegraph-Journal (New Brunswick, Canada) reports that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has rejected the proposed pipeline route through the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge for the Downeast LNG project. This rejection appears to halt the approval process by Maine’s Board of Environmental Protection until Downeast LNG proposes an alternative pipeline route and reapplies, a process the company has indicated it is ready to undertake. Platts LNG Daily [subscription required] reports that the Maine BEP is evaluating the implications of the FWS decision for Downeast’s BEP proceeding. Downeast LNG’s announcement is available in the FERC eLibrary under Docket No. CP07-53.
