Dow Chemical Files Comments with DOE Opposing LNG Exports

Dow Chemical filed comments today in response to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) commissioned macroeconomic study by NERA Economic Consulting. Reiterating its prior public positions, Dow urges the DOE to take a go-slow approach on LNG exports, arguing that U.S. manufacturing jobs and economic growth are at stake with DOE’s decisions. Dow specifically challenges NERA’s assumptions and conclusions on natural gas supply and demand, and alleges that exporting US natural gas as LNG would result in significantly greater economic harms than what NERA concluded in its study.
