DOE Reaffirms LNG Export Application Stance
Speaking at an industry conference last week, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Deputy Secretary Daniel Poneman reaffirmed that DOE would “not take any actions on the pending export applications until [DOE’s] ongoing review of this issue is completed and we have had an opportunity to review the results.” Addressing concerns related to the impact that increased gas exports could have on domestic natural gas prices, Poneman assured the audience that DOE will review price impact data as DOE considers U.S. gas export policy.
