DOE Official Expects LNG Portion of U.S. Gas Supply to Increase Fivefold
Fifteen percent of the U.S. gas supply may be LNG by 2025, a fivefold increase from its current level, according to James Slutz, the deputy assistant secretary for oil and natural gas at the U.S. Department of Energy. “Our traditional gas production has plateaued, we are increasingly relying on unconventional natural gas,” Slutz said today as he addressed via videoconference an audience at the South East Asia Australia Offshore Conference in Darwin, Australia.
