Decision on Rabaska LNG Proposal Expected Next Spring
A decision on whether to proceed with the Rabaska LNG terminal is expected next spring depending on the outcome of environmental reviews and supply negotiations, according to Pierre Despars, Gaz Metro’s executive vice president for finance and business development. He also said that the Rabaska consortium, which is comprised of Gaz Metro, Ontario’s Enbridge and Gaz de France, is currently negotiating supply agreements with Gazprom for the terminal. Despars voiced optimism over the consortium’s ability to get gas from the Shtokman field in northern Russian, but he noted that “other sources of supply” are being considered. The Montreal Gazette has the story.
