County Assessors to Appeal Arbitration Decision on Property Value of Elba Island LNG Terminal Site
The Chatham County Board of Assessors has decided to appeal an arbitration panel’s determination that the Elba Island LNG terminal site was overvalued by more than $240 million for the years 2003-2007. According to the Savannah Morning News, the Board’s decision to appeal came after it found out that Elba Island LNG would be assessed less than $100,000 in fines and overdue taxes, not $6 million as originally thought.
