Construction Begins on Gulf LNG Terminal
El Paso Corp. confirmed to Reuters that construction has begun on the Gulf LNG terminal, with targeted completion set for sometime in 2011. Reuters reports that Wood Mackenzie LNG analyst Frank Harris said that the Gulf LNG project is different from other U.S. LNG projects because “they’re part of an integrated [supply] chain back to Angola.” The Gulf LNG terminal, located in Pascagoula, Mississippi, is expected to have a sendout capacity of 1.5 Bcf/d.
