Construction and Supply Tenders for Manzanillo Terminal Forthcoming
Platts LNG Daily yesterday reported that Mexico’s state-owned power company, Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), hopes to issue two tenders this month for its Manzanillo LNG terminal. One is for constructing and operating the terminal and the other is for a 25-year supply contract starting in April 2010. CFE hopes to assess the offers in six months and finalize contracts by the year’s end. Subsequently, CFE will pursue two storage tanks, a 137 mile, 1 Bcf/d pipeline to the Pemex pipeline system, the conversion of certain oil-fired power plants, and a possible expansion.
