Connecticut Task Force Issues Report on Broadwater LNG Proposal
In a statement released yesterday, Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell (R) announced that the task force she appointed in 2005 to examine FERC’s environmental assessment of the Broadwater Energy LNG proposal has submitted its final report. Gov. Rell described the report as a “scathing indictment” of FERC’s assessment and said she planned to call incoming New York Gov. David Paterson (D) to discuss her opposition and to urge him to take the same position. In response, the Connecticut Day reports that John Hritcko Jr., the regional project director for Broadwater, called Gov. Rell’s statement “vitriolic and factually flawed.”
