Connecticut Scientists Critical of Broadwater FEIS
Marine scientists from the University of New Haven and the University of Connecticut told a state task force that the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) issued by FERC on the Broadwater LNG proposal contains “information holes and missteps” and that the agency “misinterpreted [its] own data.” Peter Auster, an associate professor at the University of Connecticut, said that he believes that the FEIS was “written to justify the [Broadwater LNG] project.” However, a lobbyist for Broadwater said that FERC’s “conclusions speak for themselves that this project will not have a definite impact on the environment.” Read more in the New Haven Register.
