Congressional Hearing on LNG Security Convened Today in Baltimore
The U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation will hold a hearing today on security issues surround ing LNG terminals, and in particular the Sparrows Point terminal proposal. The hearing, to be held in Baltimore, will feature testimony from Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-MD) and Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD), as well as officials from AES, the company backing the Sparrows Point project. This hearing is the first of two to focus on LNG security issues to be held by the Subcommittee, with another scheduled for May 7 in New York. The Baltimore Sun provides additional details.
