Conflicting Perspectives on Georgia Legislation
An editorial in today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution criticizes HB 1325, saying the bill would force customers who are already facing expensive gas bills this season to bear the costs of a $300 million pipeline project. In a separate op-ed, Georgia State Rep. Jeff Lewis, chairman of the House Public Utilities and Telecommunications Committee and a proponent of the bill, says the measure would increase competition among LDCs and drive down prices for consumers.
