Cheniere Hopes for DOE Approval of LNG Exports Soon
Speaking to Reuters, Cheniere Energy CEO Charif Souki said that he hopes the U.S. Department of Energy will issue the license permitting the company to export foreign-sourced LNG via the Sabine Pass LNG terminal. Last week, FERC authorized the modifications necessary at the facility to export such LNG. Souki notes that the ability to import LNG, store it, and then export it to higher paying markets “opens up options for us.”
