Canada to Create New Entry Rules for Foreign LNG Workers, Limit LNG Project Environmental Review Timeline

Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kinney said in a speech this week that by the end of 2012 his government will create a new entry arrangement to permit thousands of skilled foreign workers to enter the country to work in the LNG and oil sands industries. Separately, Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver said that the Canadian government intends to impose a two-year limit on the environmental review of proposed energy projects, including LNG export projects.
