Calif. Lieutenant Governor: State Will Not Need Its Own LNG Import Terminal
California’s Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi (D) said in an interview that he does not believe that California will need to build its own LNG import terminal following approval of the North Baja gas pipeline connecting the California market to the Costa Azul LNG regasification terminal in Mexico. Lt. Gov. Garamendi went on to say that if California consumers demand further access to LNG, supplies may come from one of the proposed LNG terminals to be located in Oregon.
