Broadwater Debate Focuses on Facts, Security Concerns
Suffolk Life (Long Island, N.Y.) reports that the recent debate between a Broadwater representative and an LNG opponent over the Broadwater LNG regasification terminal proposed for Long Island Sound focused on the economics of the project, as well as local residents’ security concerns. The host of the forum, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, plans to poll its members as to whether they believe they have enough information regarding the project. Then the Chamber of Commerce will develop a position paper presenting both points of view for delivery to New York Governor Eliot Spitzer (D).
