Area residents met this week to organize opposition to the WestPac LNG import terminal proposed for Texada Island near Vancouver, Canada. Speakers cited environmental, safety, and economic concerns as reasons for their opposition to the project. The Powell River Peak reports that approximately 250 attended the meeting held October 1.
