Bradwood Landing Requests Federal Schedule

On July 31, Bradwood Landing and NorthernStar Energy filed a motion with FERC requesting the federal agency establish a schedule that would impose deadlines for all required federal authorizations, including those issued by state agencies acting pursuant to federally delegated authority. The request, which cites the Energy Policy Act of 2005 in support, comes after at least two Oregon state agencies indicated the companies must submit a Land Use Compatibility Statement (LUCS) signed by Clatsop County, and Clatsop County itself stated that the LNG terminal is not consistent with the county’s land use and zoning laws. “There is a local land-use process that we believe exists and should be utilized by Bradwood,” Clatsop County Administrator Scott Derickson said. The NorthernStar filing may be found in the FERC e-Library in Docket No. CP06-365. The Daily Astorian  provides local coverage.
