Army Corps Meeting Tonight on Weaver’s Cove Dredging Plan
The Army Corp of Engineers tonight will hold one of two public meetings to address concerns regarding Hess LNG’s request to dredge Mount Hope Bay. Mayor Edward M. Lambert Jr. says people should express their views on the issue. “The Army Corps wants to hear the public’s comments on a number of issues including environmental concerns, impacts to fish and wildlife, impacts to recreation, to our water quality, to our safety and to the overall welfare of the people in the communities that will have to live with the many problems associated with this project,” he said. The second hearing will take place tomorrow night. Today’s Herald News has the story.
