According to a Wood Mackenzie analyst, additional natural gas entering Southern California from Sempra Energy’s LNG terminal in Baja California, Mexico, may necessitate additional eastbound pipeline capacity to prevent supply becoming trapped in the San Juan Basin. “[T]o keep that gas flowing,” the analyst said, 300,000 to 400,000 Mcf/d of new capacity may be required.
