DOE Authorizes Non-FTA Exports from Delfin LNG Floating Terminal
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an order authorizing Delfin LNG, LLC (Delfin) to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) by vessel from the proposed floating Delfin Liquefaction Facility, offshore Cameron Parish, La., to countries without a free trade agreement (non-FTA) with the United States. The order authorizes Delfin to export LNG up to the equivalent of 657.5 Bcf/year (1.8 Bcf/day) of natural gas. The U.S. Maritime Administration issued its Record of Decision approving the Delfin project with certain technical, financial and environmental conditions on March 13, 2017.
