DOE Issues Tolling Order on Rehearing of Corpus Christi LNG Order
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an order granting rehearing for further consideration regarding Sierra Club’s request for rehearing of DOE’s final opinion and order authorizing Cheniere Marketing (Cheniere) and Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) to export LNG to nations without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. The order extends indefinitely the time by which DOE must act on Sierra Club’s request. In the final opinion and order, DOE authorized Cheniere/CCL to export up to 767 Bcf/year of LNG for a 20-year term from the export terminal under construction near Corpus Christi, Texas.
