The Financial Post reports that British Columbia (B.C.) Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister John Rustad recently revealed that “the province had now signed revenue-sharing agreements with 28 First Nations that would be affected by the development of LNG projects and connecting pipelines.” The agreements are expected to “bring the province closer to its goals for LNG.” The proposed C$1 billion (approximately $820 million) offer to members of Canadian First Nation Lax Kw’alaams to support the proposed Petronas-led Pacific Northwest LNG project remains pending.
