Canada’s Nisga’a Nation Signs Pipeline Benefit Deal with B.C.
Reuters reports that Canada’s Nisga’a Nation has signed a C$6 million ($5.3 million) pipeline benefit agreement with British Columbia (B.C.) that will permit a pipeline to be built on its territory that would interconnect Petronas’ proposed Pacific NorthWest LNG export terminal with natural gas fields in northeast B.C. According to the report, the proposed pipeline will cross 22 additional aboriginal territories.
