Environmental Group Files Complaint with the SEC Over Dominion Cove Point LNG Export Terminal
Yesterday, the Chesapeake Climate Action Network and Ruth McElroy Amundsen, an existing shareholder in Dominion Resources, Inc., filed a complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) alleging that Dominion Midstream Partners LP (Dominion Midstream), a new gas export subsidiary of Dominion Resources, may have omitted or inadequately disclosed in its registration statement material information related to the financial and environmental risks of the proposed Dominion Cove Point LNG export terminal. The complaint alleges that “the registration statement may potentially be characterized by lack of disclosure regarding permitting and litigation delay risks, environmental risk and impact, and Dominion Midstream’s ability to generate stable and consistent cash flow,” and it requests that the SEC (1) require Dominion Midstream to update its registration statement to include material information regarding these issues and (2) conduct further investigation by the Division of Enforcement.
