Rocky Mountain Congressmen Urge DOE Approval of Non-FTA Exports from Jordan Cove LNG Terminal
The Oregonian reports that twelve members of the U.S. Congress from Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado sent a letter to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Moniz urging DOE to approve expeditiously LNG exports from the proposed Jordan Cove LNG export terminal at Coos Bay, Ore. to nations without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States. The letter states that west coast LNG export terminal facilities, “such as Jordan Cove, are essential to ensuring that Rocky Mountain states and Indian tribes have greater access to international markets and thus the opportunity to enjoy the economic benefits of LNG exports.”
