FERC Releases Update on Elba Island LNG Export Project

FERC has issued an update on its review of the proposed liquefaction and LNG export project at the existing Elba Island LNG terminal near Savannah, Ga., a joint project sponsored by Elba Liquefaction Company, L.L.C., Southern LNG Company, L.L.C., and Elba Express Company, L.L.C. The next major step in the permitting process will be the filing with FERC of formal applications and final resource reports, which is anticipated to occur in early 2014. Thereafter, FERC will prepare a draft environmental assessment, which will be released for public comment.
