Freeport LNG Expansion Opposes Industrial Group’s Late Intervention in DOE Export Case
Freeport LNG Expansion (FLEX) filed an answer opposing the Industrial Energy Consumers of America’s (IECA) motion for late intervention and comments in FLEX’s LNG export case before the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). FLEX argues, as it did in its response to similar comments filed by America’s Energy Advantage (AEA), that IECA has not justified its late intervention, IECA’s comments are an attempt to delay processing of FLEX’s LNG export application and all pending LNG export applications, and IECA’s criticisms of the Natural Gas Act and DOE regulations are misplaced or have been addressed in prior cases. The American Petroleum Institute also recently filed in opposition to AEA’s and IECA’s comments. FLEX’s answer can be accessed here, and the complete docket for the FLEX LNG export application can be found here.
