Energy Transfer and BG Group Reach Agreement to Jointly Develop the Lake Charles LNG Export Terminal

Energy Transfer Equity, L.P. and Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. (jointly, Energy Transfer) and BG Group announced that they have entered into a project development agreement to jointly develop the LNG export project at the existing Trunkline LNG import terminal in Lake Charles, La. The U.S. Department of Energy has given conditional approval to export LNG from the proposed project to nations without a Free Trade Agreement with the United States, and Trunkline LNG has begun pre-filing procedures for the terminal facilities at FERC. A final investment decision to proceed with the project is expected to be made in 2015, after which construction would start in 2015 and LNG exports are expected to begin in 2019.
