FERC and DOE Still Open Despite Government Shutdown

A notice issued by FERC and a telephone call to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Natural Gas Regulatory Activities confirm that both agencies remain open and functioning even though Congress failed to pass a government funding bill. FERC regulates the pipeline and terminal facilities utilized for the import and export of natural gas and LNG and the Office of Natural Gas Regulatory Activities regulates the import and export of natural gas, including LNG.
