Oregon Begins Coastal Zone Management Act Consistency Review for Oregon LNG Terminal
The Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) filed a letter with FERC stating that effective July 3, 2013, it has initiated review of Oregon LNG’s certification that its proposed LNG terminal project is consistent with the Oregon Coastal Management Program. The federal consistency provisions of the Coastal Zone Management Act require that any federal action occurring in or outside of Oregon’s coastal zone that affect coastal land or water uses or natural resources must be consistent with the Oregon Coastal Management Program. DLCD will issue a public notice opening a 30-day public comment period on the consistency certification. Copies of DLCD’s letter can be found here, and the complete docket for the Oregon LNG project can be found on eLibrary by searching for Docket No. CP09-6.
