Woodside Official Reveals Information on California Offshore LNG Plan
Woodside Natural Gas President Jane Cutler yesterday offered additional details regarding the OceanWay Secure Energy project, an LNG terminal proposed for more than 20 miles offshore southern California. The LNG would be regasified onboard the vessel and then piped as natural gas to consumers. Cutler said the piped natural gas would conform to California’s gas emissions standards, and noted that the gas composition also will be compatible with historical California supplies so that “no further treatment will be required.” California state officials appear receptive to the plan, according to Cutler. Details are in The Age and yesterday’s Platts LNG Daily. [Access to Platts LNG Daily requires a subscription.]
