Winner of California’s Lieutenant Governor Race to Have Significant Role in LNG Development

According to the a story in the Contra Costa Times, the California lieutenant governor’s race amounts to a race for a seat on the California State Lands Commission, a body that must approve any port facility on or off California’s coasts.  The story identifies the seat on the commission as a significant responsibility of the lieutenant governor and notes that the commission has not yet held a formal hearing on the proposed Port Esperanza LNG import project.
