Weaver’s Cove Protest Turns Chaotic
What was intended to be a ceremonial blessing of the Brightman Street Bridge in opposition to the proposed Weaver’s Cove LNG project turned into a clash between state police and protesters. A state trooper ordered the crowd not to walk across the bridge on account of “traffic and safety issues,” even though the span was closed over the weekend for repairs.
