Weaver’s Cove EIR Receives Massachusetts State Approval

Opponents of the Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal proposed for Fall River, Mass., expressed disappointment over the state’s decision on Monday to approve developer Hess LNG’s environmental impact report for the project. Fall River Mayor Edward Lambert, Jr. and Joseph Carvalho, the president of the Coalition for the Responsible Siting of LNG Facilities, contend that Hess LNG failed to adequately respond to certain data requests. Hess LNG spokesman James Grasso welcomed the approval and said that the company will proceed to seek other necessary permits. Details are in today’s Herald News.
