Venezuela Signs LNG Agreement With Jamaica
The Jamaica Gleaner reports that Venezuela signed an agreement on Tuesday to supply Jamaica with more than 150 Mcf/d of LNG by 2009. However, the president of the Natural Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago expressed skepticism over Venezuela’s ability to construct a liquefaction facility in time to meet the 2009 deadline. In response, Jamaica’s minister of industry, technology, energy, and commerce said he is confident that Venezuela will fulfill its contractual obligations.
