USCG Says Additional Waterway Reviews for Freeport LNG Liquefaction Proposal Not Necessary
Last month, the U.S. Coast Guard informed Freeport LNG that it will not require the company to submit a Letter of Intent for its LNG liquefaction project at the existing Freeport LNG terminal, nor will the agency revise the terminal’s Waterway Suitability Assessment. The Coast Guard noted that various operations and emergency manuals will need to be updated to include procedures relating to the LNG liquefaction equipment. The Coast Guard’s letter is available in the FERC eLibrary (at present this document is not associated with any FERC docket).
