U.S. Rep. Baird: Washington Should Have Joint Permitting Authority Over Bradwood Landing
U.S. Rep. Brian Baird (D-Wash.) has asked FERC to “work to establish a bi-state authority” that would allow Washington to apply certain state laws to the Bradwood Landing LNG terminal proposed for the Oregon shore of the Columbia River. Baird says that, because of Bradwood Landing’s location near the Washington border, “more Washington residents would live closer to the terminal than would Oregon residents.” The Daily Astorian reports that the Oregon Department of Energy says it is “certainly going to be supportive of a full role for Washington.”Baird’s letter to FERC, dated June 30, may be found in the e-Library in Docket No. CP06-365.
