U.S. District Court: Tribe Has Received All Documents Related to Quoddy Bay Lease
A U.S. District Court on Friday ruled that the organization We Take Care of Our Land, comprised of Passamaquoddy Tribe members opposed to the Quoddy Bay LNG proposal, has received all of the public documents to which it is entitled under the Freedom of Information Act. However, in its opinion, the court expressed “concern[] that the delay in disclosing these documents leaves the [Bureau of Indian Affairs] open to the charge that it has stonewalled the FOIA request.” The Bangor Daily News and the court’s opinion provide further details.
