U.S. Coast Guard Establishes Temporary Security Zone Around Northeast Gateway LNG Deepwater Port
The U.S. Coast Guard today published a temporary final rule establishing a security zone around the Northeast Gateway LNG deepwater port. According to the rule, published in today’s Federal Register, the zone “temporarily closes all waters of Massachusetts Bay within a five hundred (500) meter radius of [liquefied natural gas carriers] in the vicinity” of the LNG deepwater port. The rule is effective through July 12, 2008.
