Tribal Council to Consider Quoddy Bay LNG’s Land Purchase Proposal
The Passamaquoddy Joint Tribal Council tomorrow plans to consider a proposal by Quoddy Bay LNG to purchase more than 300 acres of tribe-owned land in Perry, Maine for $1.5 million. The land would be used for storage during construction of the company’s proposed LNG terminal, according to project manager Brian Smith. The Quoddy Tides reports that some tribal members believe the land is worth more than Quoddy Bay’s offer and may oppose the sale.
